Here is my latest painting, which was done with watercolor, oil paints, and wax. This is a painting of a young woman, enjoying the moment in a beautiful surrounding. I call this painting "Pura Vida".
The term "Pura Vida" Simply translated, it means “simple life” or “pure life”, but here in Costa Rica, it is more than just a saying—it is a way of life. Costa Ricans (Ticos) use this term to say hello, to say goodbye, to say everything’s great, to say everything’s cool. You will hear the term more than once if you visit Costa Rica. The painting is surrealistic, and impressionism style. It has a dream like quality, for the wax makes it appear as if in a seaside cloud. I like this, for the woman appears to be dreaming, while sunbathing. The painting is mixed media, on 8 X 10x.5 birchwodd cradle board, unframed.
